Using quotation marks

Write five sentences about ny article in a newspaper or magazine that you enjoy reading. Include a quotation, the name of a newspaper or magazine, and the title of the article in each sentence. (For practice in using quotation marks, see Chapter 3, Practice 2, page 46.

  1. According to the article “Biden uses Trump-era policy to expand healthcare for transgender Coloradans” by NBC Out, the American president has approved a request to pressure private insurance companies, making gender transition procedures fall under the Affordable Care Act.
  2. As the article “MTV says Budapest EMAs to show solidarity with LGBTQ+ community” by Reuters says, the MTV entertainment group does not have plans to change the location in order to support the LGBTQ+ community in Hungary.
  3. According to the article “Male State: Russia bans group for anti-women and anti-gay posts” by the BBC, the Russian government has banned the social media movement for mysoginistic and homophobic comments and actions.
  4. As specified in the article “Cleo Smith: ‘Grave concerns’ for Australian girl missing from beach campsite” by the BBC, Cleo Smith was taken from her tent at the Quobba camping last Saturday.
  5. According to the article “Netflix fired an employee who leaked information about Dave Chapelle’s special” by the CNN, the streaming company has fired an employee who shared confidential information about the stand-up special in the web Bloomberg.
